How Freedom Vision Began

A Story That Started With Hope

Freedom Vision began when the owner learned about a pair of goggles designed to help individuals with low vision see again.

The goggles were demonstrated at a show in The Villages, Florida, where her daughter tried on the Patriot Viewpoint Goggles and was amazed by the difference in what she could see. She immediately called her mother, Nelda, in Thornton, Colorado, and encouraged her to arrange a demonstration with someone in Colorado.

Nelda's Journey

Nelda had been living with the effects of macular degeneration and glaucoma for several years. As her vision declined, everyday tasks became increasingly difficult, and she relied more on her assistant for reading and other activities that required good vision.

She began to feel she was losing her independence and freedom.

An avid reader, she also enjoyed watching television, crocheting baby layettes, and playing card games. Unfortunately, she had been unable to enjoy these activities for several years.

Finding the Right Solution

The Beginning of Freedom Vision

The demonstration left a lasting impression.

Nelda was so impressed with the Patriot Viewpoint Goggles that she brought the dealership to the Colorado area. She chose the name Freedom Vision because it perfectly reflected what she experienced.

With the help of the goggles, she realized she could remain independent and continue enjoying many of the activities she loved. To her, independence meant freedom, and that is the inspiration behind the Freedom Vision name.
